Vought F4U-1A Corsair flying in
James Cherry is back again this year with some incredible aircraft. This diorama depicts a Vought F4U-1A Corsair from the Jolly Rogers Squadron based in the Solomon Islands in the Pacific in 1944. Many of the Marine and Navy squadrons fighting in the Pacific were based on small Islands with rough built airstrips to support the constant moving of the battle front. The aircraft were often parked among the palm trees for cover.
The model is 1/15 scale and took around 6 months to complete.
