Fairy Bricks: providing LEGO to hospital children’s wards

by / Wednesday, 10 September 2014 / Published in Archived News

The Fairy Bricks charity team will be at the show this year to raise funds for a great cause. Formed earlier this year, the charity raises money to buy LEGO which it supplies to children’s wards and hospices for children to play with so it provides assistance in their recovery. To date it has made over 20 deliveries of LEGO totalling sets worth nearly £20,000 to hospitals in the UK and across the world.

At the show the Fairy Bricks team will be building their wonderful 65,000 part mosaic and running a fantastic raffle to raise funds to enable more donations. The Star Prize will be a new Simpsons House worth £179.99 along with lots of other LEGO prizes. As they like to link local fund raising with local hospitals they will use the money they raise to buy LEGO for children at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. If lots of tickets are sold they will also support other hospitals in the immediate area in places like Bristol, Bath and Oxford. If you have hospital suggestions don’t be afraid to mention them!
